THE PROCESS
UNDERSTANDING
My art generally starts with a weird little sguiggle that I keep adding on to! I like to turn my paper or canvas in different directions every once in a while, to see what new shape it's taken on.
Each artwork could look different to each person, and that's my favorite part. A strange type of Rorshak test almosst. Do you see a ship or an anchor?
Let your eyes soften and your mind empty before looking at any print of mine. Flip it around a few times, then let your gaze create a picture.
MEDITATE
Any one of my artworks can be used as a meditative tool. Maybe at the end each day, you ponder on the picture, noting if you see something new you hadn't noticed before.
Focus on how you may see a positive image on a happy day versus a negative image on a bad day. Try to let the art become a grounding point, an anchor for you to come back to and a safe place for you to share your secrets.
CREATION
Practice drawing your own free form art. You can always use mine as an example, but you'll find what "feels good". I love sharp points, pretty circles and checkboards - you'll notice my regular elements, and you'll develop your own as well.
